Sydney Local Health District (SLHD) is one of the top performing local health districts in New South Wales. It is made up of hospitals and health services delivered in various locations in the community and also in people’s homes.
About The Role
The role will be based at Marrickville Health Centre, it offers preventative medicine, early interventions and community-based healthcare.
The Career Medical Officer will provide comprehensive community child, youth and family medical services across SLHD, including the assessment, diagnosis and management of children and young people with a range of developmental, behavioural and medical conditions. You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and community partners to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care. The role also contributes to district-wide service requirements through population health initiatives, research, teaching, service planning and participation in the Community Paediatric on-call roster.

Ideal Candidate
Has an MBBS or equivalent, and currently registered or eligible for general registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Registration Authority (AHPRA), with relevant postgraduate experience in community child youth and family health. Has five years postgraduate experience or more. Candidates with Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) are invited to apply.Participate in any on-call service including on-call rosters already existing or established if required.Currently holds a valid NSW driver’s licence (P1 and P2 licence acceptable)Demonstrated current clinical practice of a high standard and ability to adapt clinical practice in accordance with contemporary evidence based best practice.
