Open 6 days a week, Elgar Road Veterinary Hospital provides accessible, reliable veterinary services to meet the needs of busy pet guardians.Role Description This is a part-time, on-site Veterinarian role based at Elgar Road Veterinary Hospital in Box Hill North, VIC. The Veterinarian will provide clinical care including consultations, diagnostics, treatment planning, surgery, and follow-up care for companion animals. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting routine health checks and vaccinations, performing desexing and minor surgical procedures, prescribing medications, and advising clients on preventive health, nutrition, and behavior. The role also involves working closely with nursing and support staff, maintaining accurate medical records, and contributing to the smooth daily operation of the clinic. Qualifications Relevant veterinary degree (e.g., BVSc or equivalent) and current registration, or eligibility for registration, with the appropriate veterinary board in Victoria.Clinical skills in small animal medicine, routine surgery (including desexing), diagnostics, and preventive care.Strong communication and client-service skills, with the ability to explain treatment options and educate pet guardians clearly and respectfully.Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, contributing to a positive, inclusive, and safety-focused workplace.Sound judgment, attention to detail, and competence in maintaining accurate medical records and using practice management software.Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with advances in veterinary medicine and animal welfare.Previous experience in a small animal clinic or hospital setting is highly regarded; experience with grooming or cat boarding environments is an advantage.
