About the role
Reporting to the Head of Onboarding, New Business, this newly created role is responsible for managing and coordinating the end-to-end termination and wind-up of managed investment schemes on behalf of Equity Trustees. You will act as the central project manager across all fund termination activities, ensuring regulatory, operational, financial, taxation and client obligations are delivered effectively and within agreed timeframes.
In addition to leading fund termination projects, this role will support broader fund lifecycle initiatives including service provider transitions, custody transitions, fund restructures and new fund onboarding projects, providing variety and exposure across the full client lifecycle.
This is a highly visible role that requires strong stakeholder management and project coordination skills, working closely with Investment Managers, Administrators, Custodians, Auditors, Tax Advisers, Legal teams and internal business units to ensure successful fund closure outcomes.
Key ResponsibilitiesManaging the end-to-end termination and wind-up of managed investment schemes.Acting as the primary contact for Investment Managers throughout the termination process.Preparing DDC approval papers and supporting documentation for fund closure approvals.Coordinating fund closure timetables, project plans and stakeholder deliverables.Leading regular termination meetings and monitoring progress against key milestones.Maintaining termination checklists, Salesforce records and action registers.Managing investor communications in conjunction with Investment Managers and legal stakeholders.Coordinating internal teams including Operations, Accounting, Tax, Invoicing, Governance, Risk and Legal to ensure timely completion of all termination requirements.Overseeing termination expense tracking, reconciliations and closure-related financial activities.Ensuring regulatory, governance and compliance obligations are met throughout the fund termination lifecycle.Identifying and managing risks, issues and dependencies that may impact project outcomes.Managing service provider transition projects, including administrator, custodian and registry changes.Supporting onboarding and implementation activities for new funds where required.Driving successful project outcomes across fund terminations, transitions and new fund establishments.Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across fund lifecycle and termination processes.
What You'll Need to SucceedMinimum 5 years' experience in financial services, ideally within funds management, trustee services, custody, fund administration or a related environment.Experience in fund operations, relationship management, project management, transitions or fund terminations.Strong understanding of managed investment schemes and fund structures.Knowledge of fund accounting, custody, unit registry, taxation and audit processes.Demonstrated ability to coordinate complex projects involving multiple stakeholders.Exceptional stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills.Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.High attention to detail and a proactive, solutions-focused approach.Strong project management capability, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects across different stages of the fund lifecycle.Experience using Microsoft Office applications and Salesforce.Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Law or a related discipline.
