Sr. Engineer- Credit Risk (Murex/Calypso)

As a Senior Engineer, Credit Risk Specialist- you will play a critical role in delivering commodities product capability across Westpac Institutional Bank's credit risk technology landscape. Working within Traded Risk Technology, you'll help shape and enhance the platforms that measure, monitor and control counterparty credit risk across a complex institutional banking environment.

You'll work across a range of credit risk systems and technologies, partnering closely with Front Office, Market Risk, Credit Risk Management and Technology teams to deliver scalable, well-controlled solutions. You'll lead the analysis and implementation of new product capabilities, assess impacts across the broader application landscape, and help ensure commodities exposures are accurately captured and managed from trade execution through to reporting and limits monitoring.

In this role, you'll solve complex business and technology challenges, provide technical leadership through design and delivery activities, mentor team members, and drive continuous improvement across the credit risk platform estate. You'll also have opportunities to leverage automation and AI-assisted analysis to improve delivery outcomes and operational efficiency.

What do I need?

• Experience within credit risk or financial markets technology in a regulated banking environment.

• Must have experience configuring front office solutions in Murex or Calypso, capable of adapting that experience to a credit risk environment and developing credit risk solutions within our vendor platform driven environment, across the credit risk SS&C engine and FIS limits platform.

• AI engineering is preferred.

• Understanding of counterparty credit risk concepts including exposure measurement, credit limits, PD/LGD/EAD and related regulatory frameworks.

• Proven ability to analyse complex technology landscapes, perform impact assessments and solve end-to-end business and technical problems.

• Experience partnering with senior stakeholders across business, risk and technology functions.
