About the role
Located on Wonnarua Country at the gateway to the Hunter Valley, Maitland Regional Art Gallery is a dynamic art gallery serving the community and visitors to Maitland NSW.
Maitland Regional Art Gallery has a dedicated audience with over 120,000 visitors annually making our Gallery one of the most visited cultural destinations in the Hunter-region. Our Gallery presents award-winning exhibitions alongside engaging and varied public programs, educational offerings and an in-depth Arts Health program.
The Opportunity:
Maitland Regional Art Gallery is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Education Programs Lead for a temporary opportunity, to develop and deliver inspiring learning experiences that connect audiences with art, ideas, and community.
As the Education Programs Lead, you will play a key role in developing, delivering, and evaluating a diverse range of high quality educational and public programs that support the Gallery's exhibitions, collection, and strategic vision. You will create meaningful opportunities for audiences to connect with visual arts through workshops, tours, lectures, interpretation projects, public events, and community partnerships.
Working closely with the curatorial team and Deputy Director, you will help drive audience engagement, foster educational partnerships, and contribute to the Gallery's ongoing growth as a leading regional cultural institution.
Your key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
About you:
To be successful in this role you will hold a Degree qualification in fine art education or other relevant area, couple with a Diploma of Education/ Bachelor of Teaching or extensive experience in a similar role.
You will have extensive knowledge of contemporary Australia visual arts and proven ability to research and interpret art works and exhibitions.
Further, you will hold experience in developing, coordinating and evaluating events, projects and public programs, coupled with high interpersonal skills and communication skills.
Benefits:
This is a part-time, temporary 12-month opportunity, working a 28-hour week over 4 days, with a base salary range of $94,812 - $105,241 prorated + 12% super.
