Head of Faculty - Religious Education

Full-Time Ongoing | Villanova College | Coorparoo

We are seeking an experienced educator to lead Religious Education as Head of Faculty, commencing in 2027.

This is a meaningful leadership opportunity for a teacher with strong curriculum credentials and the capacity to inspire both students and colleagues. The role sits within our Middle Leadership team and carries responsibility for the Religious Education program across Years 7 to 12.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development, implementation and evaluation of the RE curriculum in alignment with Brisbane Catholic Education and QCAA requirements

• Build and sustain a high-performing faculty through active coaching, professional development and collaborative practice

• Oversee assessment design, moderation and QCAA compliance processes

• Use student achievement data to drive informed curriculum and pedagogical decisions

• Foster faith formation and support the spiritual development of students

• Manage faculty resources, budget and reporting in line with College expectations

• Contribute to whole-school strategy as part of the Middle Leadership team

The Successful Candidate Will:

• Actively support and embody the Catholic and Augustinian mission of the College, with a genuine commitment to the mission of Catholic education

• Hold tertiary qualifications in Education with a specialisation in Religious Education or Theology

• Hold current Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) registration

• Demonstrate proven curriculum leadership and the ability to develop and support a teaching team

• Show a strong understanding of the BCE Religious Education Curriculum and QCAA senior processes

• Engage students with intellectual rigour and pastoral warmth

• Build positive, professional relationships across the College community
