About the role
The Belair Hotel is a well-loved destination in the Adelaide Hills, known for its welcoming atmosphere, strong local following, and quality hospitality offering. We’re on the lookout for an experienced Duty Manager who leads from the front, motivates and thrives in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
Role Description: The Duty Manager oversees hotel and venue operations in the absence of the Venue Manager, ensuring smooth service in bar, bistro, gaming, and accommodation areas while maintaining high standards of guest experience. Responsibilities include supervising and supporting team members, handling guest inquiries and complaints, and ensuring compliance with house policies, safety, and licensing requirements. The Duty Manager monitors cash handling and gaming procedures, assists with opening and closing processes, and liaises with suppliers and other stakeholders as needed. The role also involves training staff, identifying operational improvements, and supporting management with reporting and basic administrative tasks.
QualificationsDemonstrated leadership and team supervision skills in hospitality.Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to manage guest issues calmly and professionally.Good organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks across a busy venue.Knowledge of relevant health, safety, and licensing regulations in South Australia, or willingness to learn.Ability to work flexible hours, including late nights, weekends, and public holidays as required.Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA), RP and RSG3 qualifications.Previous experience as a Duty Manager, Supervisor, or similar role in hotels or pubs is highly regarded.
