We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join the NEPEAN Engineering team based in Prestons. Reporting to the Production Manager, this hands-on role will see you program, set up and operate CNC machines to manufacture one-off production components to a high standard of quality, precision and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Program, set up and operate CNC vertical and horizontal borers, mills and lathes.
• Perform precision milling, turning, boring and drilling to produce high-quality manufactured components.
• Review factory orders and drawings to determine job specifications and requirements.
• Carry out dimensional inspections and monitor product quality throughout production.
• Load and unload products safely while ensuring correct product orientation in machinery.
• Monitor and change cutting tools as needed to maintain machining efficiency and quality.
• Enter, retrieve, title and store CNC programs and maintain source files.
• Operate manual machines including mills, lathes, drills and saws when required.
• Support the Production Manager and Supervisors with additional tasks when machine downtime occurs.

About You

• Trade qualification such as Certificate III in Engineering, Fitter Machinist or Toolmaker trade qualifications.
• 2–5 years’ experience as a CNC Machinist.
• Sound knowledge of Mazatrol, Heidenhain and Fanuc controls.
• Experience with CAD/CAM and PowerMill is an advantage and will be highly regarded.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, work orders and technical specifications.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A collaborative approach, flexibility and willingness to support the broader team when required.
• Organisational and time management skills
