POSITION SUMMARY
The Junior Engineer is responsible for providing technical support across the Engineering and Product teams to assist in the delivery of technical solutions, product support, and continuous improvement initiatives. This position offers an opportunity to develop professional engineering skills in electric motors and associated products, supporting both internal operations and external customer needs. The Junior Engineer will work under supervision, with increasing levels of responsibility as competency develops.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Junior Engineer will assist in the technical evaluation, selection, and application of electric motors and associated products. This role involves interpreting and reviewing engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation, supporting troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues during product installation, operation, and maintenance. The Junior Engineer will be responsible for preparing and maintaining technical documents such as service reports, drawings, catalogues and manuals. The role also includes participation in engineering investigations and root cause analysis activities, supporting the modifications team in executing customer-specific engineering requirements, and helping maintain quality systems in compliance with ISO9001 standards. The Junior Engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Sales, Service and Quality Assurance, and is expected to actively participate in training, workshops, and other professional development activities to continuously enhance technical capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Ensure engineering tasks are performed in compliance with company standards, procedures, and relevant technical standards.
• Deliver accurate and timely technical support to both internal teams and external customers.
• Maintain a high level of safety awareness, adhering to all workplace health and safety policies.
• Assist in improving product knowledge within the organization through sharing technical expertise.
• Support operational efficiency by contributing to continuous improvement projects.
• Foster strong working relationships across departments to promote teamwork and knowledge sharing.
• Always maintain confidentiality of company and customer information.
• Preparation and issuing quotations.
• Telephone sales responsibility for all customised Electric Motors products.
• Liaise directly with factories and suppliers to resolve technical issues, to drive product improvements and using the quoting system for indent and special motors.
• Pro-actively make outbound calls to follow up quotes and sales opportunities. 
• Conduct follow-up calls daily to customers who have expressed an interest in our products. 
• Develop strong relationships with customers and demonstrate how we can add value to their business. 
• Identify potential customer needs/ opportunities to grow our business. 
• Respond to customer emails in a professional manner. 
• Create and maintain records in database. 
• Miscellaneous administration tasks.

EDUCATION
•    Tertiary level Engineering completed or undergoing. 
•    Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, technician or trades qualification.

EXPERIENCE
•    1-year relevant experience on electrical machinery preferred, graduates welcome.

COMPETENCE
•    Basic understanding of electric motors, drives, and associated industrial equipment, including design principles, operation, and applications.
•    Ability to systematically analyze issues, identify root causes, and propose practical solutions under supervision.
•    Strong focus on accuracy in technical work, documentation, and communication.
•    Ability to clearly convey technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, verbally and in writing.
•    Willingness and ability to quickly learn new technologies, industry standards, and company procedures.
•    Strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues across engineering, sales, service, and quality assurance teams.
•    Ability to manage multiple tasks with competing priorities and deliver work on schedule under guidance.
