Ventia delivers transport infrastructure and technology maintenance solutions across Victoria’s major road network. This role plays a vital part in maintaining and improving the region's transport infrastructure, helping keep communities connected and roads safe as part of the North East Link Tram to Springvale Upgrade.

This contract includes the operation, maintenance and performance management of critical Transport Systems, traffic signal assets, communications networks, electrical infrastructure and associated roadside technology across live traffic environments.

About the role

The Project Engineer supports the Project Manager and wider delivery team by coordinating site activities, preparing work packs, managing technical documentation, tracking progress, supporting procurement, coordinating subcontractors, managing quality records, assisting with commercial administration and ensuring works are delivered safely and in accordance with project specifications, programme requirements and client expectations.

The Project Engineer will assist in the delivery contract works from mobilisation and construction through to testing, commissioning, handover and project close out.

This position requires a proactive and practical engineer who can work effectively in a fast paced major project environment, maintain strong attention to detail, support field productivity, identify risks early and help ensure Ventia’s scope is delivered safely, efficiently, commercially and to the required quality standard.

About you

• A relevant degree or qualification in Electrical Engineering or Civil Engineering
• Minimum 4 to 5 years’ experience in project engineering, construction delivery, infrastructure projects
• Experience working with Tier-1 contractors, alliances, government clients or major transport infrastructure projects is desirable.
• Strong understanding of construction delivery in live traffic environments, including interface management, access constraints, traffic management and staged works.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, ITPs, test plans, schedules, technical documents and construction work packs.
• Current driver’s licence
• Construction White Card is required
