• Our client is an established Australian commercial law firm with a longstanding presence in the Melbourne market. The firm competes with the top end of the market with Top 8 firms regularly on the other side of disputes and transactions.

About the role:

We are seeking experienced Partners, Special Counsel with a portable practice, or senior practitioners ready to step into partnership across:

• Employment & Workplace Relations – employment advisory, industrial relations, workplace disputes, investigations and employment litigation.
• Tax – tax advisory, structuring, disputes, investigations and broader commercial tax matters.
• Property – acquisitions and disposals, development, commercial leasing, property finance and complex real estate transactions.
• Litigation & Dispute Resolution – commercial and corporate disputes, contractual disputes, insolvency, property disputes and complex court proceedings.

The opportunity can be shaped around your existing practice, client relationships and longer-term growth plans.

You will have the opportunity to lead matters, develop your client base, build out a team and collaborate with Partners across the wider firm.

The ideal candidate:

You will ideally:

• Be an established Partner, Special Counsel or senior lawyer with a pathway to partnership.
• Have strong technical expertise within Employment, Tax, Property or Litigation.
• Have an established client following, portable practice or demonstrated ability to generate and develop work.
• Be commercially minded with strong client relationship and business development skills.
• Enjoy working collaboratively and see value in being part of a broader commercial offering.
• Be looking for a platform where you can grow your practice and have genuine input into the firm’s direction.
