What You'll Be Doing

As a Research & Development Chemist, you'll help develop the next generation of coating technologies that support Acratex's market-leading position. This is a hands-on R&D role where you'll be actively involved in formulation, testing and product development, working closely with experienced scientists and cross-functional teams to turn ideas into commercially successful products. 

Initially, the role will focus on cementitious render products, with opportunities to expand into other coating technologies as your experience and development grow. You'll improve existing formulations, contribute to new product innovations, solve technical challenges, and help deliver high-quality, sustainable solutions for customers. If you enjoy rolling up your sleeves, getting your hands dirty, and seeing your work come to life in real-world applications, this role is for you.

What We're Looking For

• Degree qualifications in Chemistry, Applied Science or a related STEM discipline
• Formulation experience, ideally within coatings, paints or related industries
• Strong analytical skills with experience interpreting and leveraging data insights
• Proven problem-solving capability and a structured approach to root cause analysis
• Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills
• Highly organised, detail-oriented and committed to quality outcomes
• Collaborative team player with the ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities
• Growth mindset with a passion for continuous learning and innovation
• Drive to develop market-leading products and deliver commercially successful outcome
