Our current Occupational Therapy services predominantly support children, adolescents, and their families. About the RoleAs an Occupational Therapist at Look Who's Talking, you'll play an important role in helping individuals participate more fully in the activities that matter most to them.
You'll primarily support children and adolescents with a range of developmental, sensory, emotional regulation, functional, and participation goals while working collaboratively with families, educators, support teams, and other professionals.
As our service continues to grow, you'll also have opportunities to contribute to the development of supports across the lifespan, including adult and community-based services.Depending on your experience and interests, there may also be opportunities to:Mentor and support early year cliniciansSupervise students and Allied Health AssistantsContribute to service development initiativesLead projects and innovative programsDevelop leadership skills and responsibilitiesHelp shape the future direction of our Occupational Therapy team
What You'll Be DoingClinical PracticeDelivering evidence-based Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions. Supporting children and adolescents to achieve meaningful goals across home, school, clinic and community environments. Conducting functional, developmental, sensory, participation-based and multidisciplinary assessments. Developing individualised therapy plans and recommendations in collaboration with clients, families and the broader care team. Participating in joint sessions, shared assessments and integrated intervention planning alongside Speech Pathologists, Music Therapists and Allied Health Assistants. Providing consultation, coaching and capacity-building support to families, educators, support teams and community stakeholders. Writing reports, recommendations, funding applications and professional documentation. Contributing to innovative group programs, school partnerships and community-based initiatives.
