Intern pharmacist

About the role

Priceline Pharmacy Dapto is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Intern Pharmacist to join our pharmacy team on a part-time basis. Located in Dapto, NSW, this role offers an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in a community pharmacy setting whilst working towards your pharmacist registration. As an Intern Pharmacist, you will work under the supervision of registered pharmacists, developing your clinical skills, understanding of pharmaceutical practice, and customer service excellence in a fast-paced retail pharmacy environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist registered pharmacists in dispensing medications and preparing prescriptions with accuracy and efficiency

• Conduct pharmacy stock management, including ordering, receiving, and maintaining inventory of pharmaceutical products and OTC items

• Provide customer service by answering queries about over-the-counter medications, health products and general wellness information under pharmacist supervision

• Support the maintenance of pharmacy standards, cleanliness and organisation of the dispensary and retail areas

• Assist with data entry, prescription processing and pharmacy record-keeping systems

• Participate in mandatory pharmacy training and professional development activities

• Support health and wellness initiatives, including immunisation clinics and health screening programmes where applicable

• Comply with pharmacy legislation, regulations and standard operating procedures at all times

What we're looking for

• Currently enrolled in or recently completed an accredited pharmacy degree programme in Australia

• Eligible to undertake an internship under the Pharmacy Board of Australia guidelines

• Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical principles, medications, and therapeutic uses

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in dispensing and record-keeping

• Proficiency with pharmacy management systems and computer literacy

• Outstanding communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers and pharmacy staff

• A commitment to patient safety and adherence to pharmacy ethics and professional standards

• Ability to work efficiently in a busy retail environment and manage multiple tasks

• Strong problem-solving abilities and willingness to learn from experienced pharmacists
