Hotel/Hostel Manager

Little Coogee Hotel is seeking a hands-on Manager to lead a high-performing team while being actively involved in the day-to-day operations of our hybrid hotel and hostel.

This is not a desk-based management role. We are looking for a manager who leads by example and enjoys working alongside the team. In addition to overseeing the operation of the property, you will regularly work reception shifts, assist guests, support the housekeeping team when required, and help ensure the smooth running of the hotel. If you're someone who isn't afraid to roll up your sleeves and jump in wherever needed, we'd love to hear from you.

This is a full-time position working 38 hours per week.

Qualifications and Experience

• Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma

• Minimum 2 years' work experience

• Previous management experience

• Fluent in English (additional languages are an advantage)

• Ability to build strong relationships with guests and clients

• Interest in the travel and tourism industry

• Knowledge of travel in Australia is an advantage

Responsibilities of the Role

1. Manage the day-to-day operations of the hotel.

2. Work regular reception shifts and assist with front desk operations.

3. Support the housekeeping team during busy periods and help maintain high cleanliness standards.

4. Ensure guest satisfaction, deliver outstanding customer service, and exceed client expectations.

5. Manage cost of goods and stock control.

6. Prepare monthly financial and budget reports.

7. Identify opportunities to streamline business operations.

8. Lead, motivate and develop your team to be "the best they can be."

9. Continue to build, develop and enhance client relationships.

10. Create tours and activities (travel agency).

11. Manage customer satisfaction and guest preferences.

12. Provide guests with local tourism information and arrange tours and transportation.
