About the role

A butcher role focused on preparing, cutting, trimming, deboning and portioning meat to a high standard, producing value-added products such as sausages, mince and marinades, and providing customer service in a retail environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, cut, trim, debone and portion meat to a high standard.

• Produce sausages, mince, marinades and other value-added products.

• Maintain excellent product presentation and quality.

• Provide friendly, knowledgeable customer service.

• Follow all food safety, hygiene and workplace safety requirements.

• Maintain clean work areas, equipment and tools.

• Monitor stock rotation, minimise waste and assist with stock control.

About you

• Recognised qualification or relevant experience as a butcher.

• Strong knife skills and knowledge of meat preparation.

• Food safety and hygiene knowledge.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.

• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

• Consistently high standards of workmanship and product quality.

• Reliable, punctual and professional attitude.

• Work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.

• Strong attention to detail and food safety.
