We are seeking a Lead Microservices & AI Technical Architect to provide senior technical leadership across a major technology transformation program.

This is a strategic architecture role focused on establishing enterprise-scale microservices and event-driven architecture foundations, modernising cloud-native platforms, and embedding AI-enabled engineering practices across the software delivery lifecycle.

You will influence architecture and engineering decisions, establish modern technology and delivery standards, and help build the technical capability required to deliver secure, scalable, resilient and high-performing digital platforms.

What You'll Do

Provide technical leadership and architectural authority across cloud-native, microservices, event-driven and AI-enabled platformsDefine and govern architecture patterns, engineering standards and technology practicesLead the adoption of AI-enabled software development and delivery practices, including responsible AI and AI-assisted SDLC approachesEstablish and uplift DevSecOps, CI/CD, automated testing, observability, platform engineering and operational excellence practicesDrive technology modernisation, including microservices adoption, containerisation, enterprise integration and reusable platform patternsInfluence architecture and engineering decisions across complex technology transformation initiativesTranslate complex business and technical requirements into practical, scalable technology solutionsWork closely with multidisciplinary teams, delivery partners and senior stakeholdersProvide technical mentoring, coaching and knowledge transfer to uplift engineering capability and maturityPromote continuous improvement, innovation and engineering excellence across distributed teamsHelp establish and evolve enterprise microservices and event-driven architecture capabilities

What You'll Bring

Extensive experience designing, implementing and governing cloud-native, microservices and event-driven architectures within complex enterprise environmentsStrong expertise in AI engineering and AI-enabled solution delivery, including enterprise AI capabilities, semantic search, machine learning and responsible AI practicesStrong software and platform engineering capability across modern development frameworks, DevSecOps, CI/CD, automated testing, observability and security by designProven experience leading enterprise technology modernisation and transformation initiatives, influencing architecture decisions and delivering measurable improvementsExceptional stakeholder engagement, communication and leadership skills, with experience working across senior executives, technical teams, delivery partners and multidisciplinary teamsExperience with container platforms such as Kubernetes, OpenShift, AKS, EKS or GKE, including platform automation, governance and workload managementExperience across cloud modernisation, SRE, platform engineering, observability and enterprise-scale automationExperience leading Agile delivery teams, including geographically distributed teams, with a focus on coaching and capability upliftStrong understanding of security, scalability, reliability and operational excellence in enterprise technology environments
