About the role
The Firm - Du & Associates Lawyers
We are a generalist law practice located in Sydney CBD who are serious about their work as well as young and fun at heart.
Our busy team consists of ~ 10 experienced lawyers who are ready willing and able to work along side and mentor their juniors. Our areas of practice are family law, commercial law, property and conveyancing, civil litigation and criminal law. We are looking for a solicitor with at least 2 years post-admission experience to join our growing team. You will be working with different experienced solicitors in a range of areas such as family law, criminal law, commercial advisory and civil litigation. We will provide you with the training and mentorship you need to develop a brilliant career.
The position is a full-time position with an Immediate start.
Key responsibilities:
Liaison with clients/agents/solicitors/Barristers and other relevant parties
Participate in interviewing clients to determine the nature of problems, and recommending and undertaking appropriate legal action
Draft contract/agreement/deed/letters of advice and any court documents
Prepare briefs to counsel
Represent clients in courts and tribunals
Attend conferences, mediations and provide advice to clients
Ensure litigation files are up to date and prepare for any upcoming court events
Prepare cases for court by conducting the investigation, undertaking research, arranging witness preparation and attendance and giving notice of court actions
Maintain an accurate and up to date record of costs and fees
Preferred applicants:
2 years post-admission experience at a law firm in a similar role
Excellent in Microsoft Office incl. Outlook/Word/Excel
Preferable knowledge of Leap
Attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
