Container Transport Allocator - Night Shift

We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and customer driven Transport Allocator to join our team. The Transport Allocator will be responsible for coordinating the SWL truck fleet to ensure that containers are moved from shipping wharfs to the customer or yard, within optimum timeframes.

Key Duties

• Book empty slots in 1-Stop and ContainerChain for dehires to MT parks 

• Liaise with the drivers on a nightly basis to ensure all work is being carried out correctly

• Ensure compliance with all NHVR and health and safety regulations.

• Accurate updating off all jobs in FreightTracker

• Notify internally and externally of any delays at clients and or wharf delays

• Monitor and Coordinate discharge and availability of imports from container terminals

• Ensure smooth and accurate handover is done to the day allocator at end of shifts

• Monitoring drivers with Netstar GPS to assure optimal performance is maintained throughout the shift

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will possess the following:

• At least 2 years’ experience in a transport related roles

• Be a team player, have a positive attitude and have the ability to work autonomously

• Must know and understand Chain of Responsibility 

• Knowledge of 1-Stop and Freight Tracker operating systems 

• Knowledge of Import and Export requirements at the port 

• Good understanding of the Ports and Empty parks within Port Botany

• Excellent communication and planning skills and attention to detail

• Demonstrated teamworking skills and outstanding customer service skills

• Good understanding of A-DOUBLE & HML routes throughout Port Botany and Metro area in compliance with NHVR approved routes
