About the role
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Stone Mason Workshop Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our stone masonry workshop.
This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone with strong stone masonry knowledge, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to manage people, production, quality, and deadlines.
You will be responsible for ensuring the workshop operates safely, efficiently, and to a consistently high standard while supporting the team to deliver quality stonework for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the daily operations of the stone masonry workshop.
Supervise, coordinate and support workshop staff and apprentices.
Plan and allocate daily workloads and production schedules.
Read and interpret drawings, measurements and specifications.
Oversee stone cutting, shaping, finishing and fabrication.
Maintain high standards of workmanship and quality control.
Coordinate materials, stock, tools and workshop equipment.
Monitor production timelines and ensure jobs are completed on schedule.
Liaise with management, site teams, suppliers and other trades as required.
Identify and resolve production issues quickly and effectively.
Maintain a clean, organised and safe workshop.
Ensure company procedures and workplace health and safety requirements are followed.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
Proven experience as a stone mason, stonemason, fabricator or workshop supervisor.
Strong knowledge of natural stone and/or manufactured stone products.
Previous experience leading or supervising a team.
Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
The ability to read plans, drawings and job specifications.
Strong organisational and time-management skills.
Good communication and problem-solving abilities.
A practical, hands-on approach to managing people and production.
A strong commitment to workplace safety.
