Tasmanian Lamb Company Pty Ltd (TLC) is a family owned wholesale business which primarily sells Lamb, Beef, Pork and Carton Meat. TLC is closely aligned with the brand ‘Lamb of Tasmania’ which is an award winning Tasmanian lamb product that we are the sole distributor for in QLD.
Position Purpose
The Loadout Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of Tasmanian Lamb Company's Queensland distribution and loadout activities.
The role is responsible for ensuring customer orders are accurately picked, invoiced, prepared and dispatched on time, incoming product is received correctly, stock is accurately controlled, and all activities are undertaken in accordance with company food safety, workplace health and safety and operational requirements.
The Loadout Supervisor will also coordinate employees and drivers involved in receival, picking and dispatch activities and act as the key operational contact for the Queensland site.
A competitive remuneration package including a company vehicle will be negotiated with the succesful candidate.
Key Responsibilities
Order Processing & Loadout
Ensure all customer orders are processed, picked and invoiced accurately and on time.
Coordinate the preparation and loadout of customer orders.
Pick lamb carcass and other product orders as required.
Check product, quantities, weights and documentation prior to dispatch.
Ensure correct stock rotation and allocation of product to customer orders.
Communicate delivery requirements, schedules and changes to drivers.
Coordinate incoming and outgoing freight and ensure deliveries and collections occur efficiently.
Assist with cutting lamb carcasses on the bandsaw where required.
Receivals & Stock Control
Attend the site as required to manage incoming loads, including scheduled Monday, Wednesday and Sunday receivals where applicable.
Ensure incoming product is checked against relevant paperwork and discrepancies are promptly reported.
Ensure product is transferred into appropriate refrigerated storage without unnecessary delay.
Complete scheduled stocktakes and maintain accurate inventory records.
Investigate and report stock discrepancies.
Maintain accurate CHEP pallet records and pallet movements.
Supervision & People Management
Supervise and coordinate employees involved in receival, picking, loadout and associated warehouse activities.
Allocate daily tasks and ensure appropriate staffing for operational requirements.
Ensure employee timesheets are accurate, completed and submitted for payroll processing.
Provide clear instructions and maintain effective communication with employees, drivers, customers and management.
Ensure employees perform their duties safely, efficiently and to the required company standard.
Food Safety & Quality
Maintain the company's Safe Food processes and comply with all applicable food safety requirements.
Ensure the cold chain is maintained during receival, storage, picking and dispatch.
Ensure product is handled in a manner that protects product quality, integrity and shelf life.
Maintain appropriate cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the facility.
Immediately report and assist in managing any food safety, product quality or traceability issues.
Workplace Health & Safety
Ensure company workplace health and safety procedures are followed by all employees and contractors at the site.
Promote safe work practices during receival, picking, bandsaw operation, manual handling and loadout.
Ensure incidents, hazards and near misses are reported and appropriately addressed.
Ensure equipment is operated safely and only by appropriately trained personnel.
Vehicles, Equipment & Site
Ensure the TLC truck fleet and vans are maintained in a clean and presentable condition.
Coordinate servicing, repairs and maintenance of company vehicles and operational equipment as required.
Ensure maintenance issues are identified and reported promptly.
Maintain the Queensland facility in a clean, organised and professional condition.
Key Performance Expectations
Performance in the role will be assessed against:
Accuracy of customer orders and invoicing.
On-time preparation and dispatch of orders.
Accuracy of stock records and stocktakes.
Effective management of incoming loads and deliveries.
Maintenance of the cold chain and food safety requirements.
Compliance with WHS procedures.
Minimisation of picking, dispatch and stock errors.
Effective supervision and communication with staff and drivers.
Cleanliness and presentation of the facility and company vehicles.
Accurate and timely completion of operational paperwork, CHEP records and timesheets.
Skills & Experience
The successful person should demonstrate:
Experience in meat, food distribution, cold storage, warehousing or a similar operational environment.
Previous supervisory or team leadership experience.
Strong organisational and time-management skills.
Good attention to detail, particularly with stock, orders and invoicing.
Ability to coordinate multiple deliveries, receivals and customer orders.
Sound understanding of food safety and workplace health and safety requirements.
Ability to work effectively in a refrigerated environment and undertake the physical requirements of the role.
Good communication and problem-solving skills.
Basic computer and administrative skills.
Forklift licence desirable.
Experience handling meat carcasses and operating a bandsaw desirable.
General Responsibilities
The Loadout Supervisor is also required to comply with all lawful and reasonable directions of Tasmanian Lamb Company, act in the best interests of the company, maintain confidentiality, comply with company policies and procedures, and perform other reasonable duties that are within the employee's skills and capabilities and are required for the effective operation of the business.
