About the role

This is a fulltime ongoing position commencing January 2027. The role is part of St Norbert College, a Christian community which lives the Gospel values and offers a nurturing and inclusive school life for young people. You will be a supportive and active contributor towards the realisation of the College's vision, playing an important part in the culture of the College and the future of students.

Key responsibilities

• Demonstrate a working knowledge of current curriculum developments in Courses of Study and teaching and learning for Years 7 - 12

• Present pedagogical proficiency, motivational and innovative classroom practices

• Exhibit an enjoyment from building relationships with adolescents

• Display a passion for teaching English

• Be inclusive of the diverse needs of learners

• Work as part of the English Learning Area team in programming, assessing, providing feedback and reporting

• Attend student reviews and parent/student/teacher nights

• Set high goals and standards for students and provide interventions for improvement

• Use data to measure student achievement and inform teaching practices

• Carry out teaching duties as negotiated with the Head of Learning Area

About you

• Be supportive of the Catholic and Norbertine ethos of the College

• Be willing to contribute and participate in Co-Curricular activities

• Hold a current TRBWA registration and Working with Children Clearance

• Undertake Mandatory Reporting training (CPPMR) and maintain annually

• Abide by the guidelines contained in the St Norbert College Code of Conduct

• Professional standard of dress and personal presentation

• Personal commitment to tasks undertaken

• Enthusiasm and energy

• High standard of organisational and time management skills

• Work collaboratively with staff, students and parents
