Medical Receptionist (Part Time/Casual)

Our Specialist practice, is seeking a Part Time/Casual Medical Receptionist (20-25 hours per week) for our rooms located in Cairns City who will thrive in a dynamic work environment where teamwork and delivering service differently is the key to success.

The people we seek are passionate about patient service, can multi-task with ease and will bring existing skills in medical administration to add value to our growing practice.  The successful candidate will have a flexible approach to working hours, and will be available for a mix of opening and closing shifts.

This is an exciting opportunity to provide excellent service to our patients and outstanding support to our surgeons as a member of a friendly and collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities of the role will include:

• Providing professional reception services during patient clinics

• Billing and receipting

• Correspondence and patient enquiries

• Preparation for clinics including liaison with patients, referrers and other health care providers

• Clinic support to maintain consulting room stores and instrument sterilisation

• Answering incoming calls and making appointments for multiple surgeons

• Liaison with our Brisbane Head Office

Essential skills and Attributes required:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a computerised Medical Practice

• Proven track record in excellent patient service

• Polite and professional telephone manner

• Excellent written and verbal communication

• High attention to detail

• Positive outlook and ability to multitask with a smile

• Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

• Ability to demonstrate a dedicated work ethic

• Knowledge of Medicare and Health Fund billing protocols

• Experience in use of medical software (Genie an advantage)

• Residing within the Cairns local area with independent transport
