Planner / Scheduler

Our Tier 1 Mining Client is looking for an experienced Senior Project Planner to join a major resources organisation supporting large-scale mining and infrastructure projects.

Roster: 8/6 FIFO from Perth

Start date: ASAP

Duration: approx. 6 months - with potential to extend

Pay Rate: $70.00 - $80.00 p/h + Super depending on experience

The Role:

Working within a dynamic project delivery team, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining and monitoring project schedules, providing schedule insights, and supporting successful project execution through effective planning and controls.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled Project Planner with strong mining, engineering or construction experience to work on complex projects with a leading organisation.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6.
• Manage baseline schedules, progress updates and forecasting activities.
• Provide regular reporting including progress updates, dashboards, S-curves and schedule narratives.
• Monitor project performance against approved timelines, milestones and deliverables.
• Identify risks, delays and potential schedule impacts, providing mitigation strategies.
• Perform critical path analysis, float management and recovery planning.
• Support project teams with look-ahead planning and schedule optimisation.
• Assist with change management, extension of time assessments and schedule impact analysis.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, Contractors and key stakeholders.

Required Experience:

• Proven experience as a Project Planner, Senior Planner or Planning Engineer.
• Strong experience supporting mining, resources, construction, infrastructure or energy projects.
• Advanced knowledge of Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
• Experience developing and managing complex project schedules.
• Strong understanding of project controls, earned value management and progress measurement.
• Ability to interpret engineering, construction and project delivery requirements.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

Desirable Experience:

• Previous experience working on mining projects.
• Exposure to EPC/EPCM environments.
• Experience with shutdowns, brownfield projects or major capital works.
• Knowledge of cost-loaded and resource-loaded schedules.
• Experience with schedule risk analysis and delay assessments.
