Boilermaker – Workshop / Field

Key Solutions Group are a major stakeholder in engineering, projects, overhauls, manufacture, construction & maintenance services for mining, ports, agriculture and utilities industries throughout Central & Northern QLD. We’re looking for an experienced Boilermaker to join our team, working across our Mackay heavy fabrication workshop and out on surface coal mine sites, including CHPP and longwall equipment.

About the Role

Based out of our Mackay workshop, you’ll split your time between fabrication in the shop and repairs/installations on-site as projects require. Accommodation and meals are covered when travelling to site in a KSG vehicle.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Fabricating, repairing, and installing on CHPP and longwall equipment, both in the workshop and on-site
• Interpreting drawings, ITPs, SWMS/SOPs, and weld symbols to deliver work to spec
• Maintaining the highest standard of workmanship and completing quality control documentation
• Operating mobile plant and lifting equipment safely and responsibly
• Participating in toolbox talks, JSAs/SWMS reviews, pre-starts, and monthly safety meetings
• Keeping your Supervisor informed and reporting hazards or equipment faults promptly
• Maintaining a safe, clean, and well-organised work environment

What We’re Looking For

• Trade Certificate (Australian Certified)
• Sound knowledge of OH&S principles, including Coal Mining Safety and Health requirements
• Previous experience in a Fabrication/Boilermaker role, ideally in heavy fabrication and maintenance Current QLD Driver’s Licence (Open, Manual) with the ability to tow a trailer
• Experience with GMAW, FCAW and GTAW welding and gouging processes
• Ability to pass the Glencore Level 2 weld certification
• Current QLD Coal mine generic requirements (S11 & CBM)
• Gas testing, confined space, and working at heights tickets
• A genuine can-do attitude and strong communication skills

Desirable

• Previous experience with longwall equipment and components
• Current Forklift and EWP tickets
• Rigging & Dogging qualifications
