About the role

Araluen Botanic Park, a place of natural beauty nestled in the serene landscapes of Roleystone, Perth WA, is seeking a dedicated Groundsman to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about horticulture and maintaining the aesthetic and ecological health of our renowned botanic haven.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the park including rubbish removal and BBQ areas

• Perform gardening tasks such as mowing, trimming, fertilizing, mulching, weeding, pruning, spraying and watering

• Ensure pathways and green spaces are free from debris and litter

• Safely store and handle chemicals and garden equipment per OH&S guidelines

• Support Park events with setup and traffic control

• Work collaboratively with the park team to support events and special projects

• Assist in guiding volunteers and participating in educational outreach programs as needed

About you

• Commitment to the mission and values of Araluen Botanic Park

• Experience in gardening and lawn maintenance including the use of relevant chemicals and equipment

• Familiarity with OHS regulations and safe work practices

• Desirable: Licenses to drive tractors and handle chemicals (ChemCert Chemical Accreditation)

• Desirable: WorkCover WA Workplace Health and Safety General Induction White Card
