About the Y Northern Territory (Y NT):

The Opportunity:
Working within the Palmerston Youth Centre. The Youth Worker is responsible for proactively engaging and supporting young people to participate in safe, engaging, and inclusive programs. The role ensures young people are effectively supervised, daily operational and administrative tasks are completed, all internal Work, Health and Safety (WHS) and Safeguarding requirements are completed and adherence to external, legislative reporting requirements are maintained. The Youth Worker plays a key role in the delivery of a safe environment for young people while ensuring compliance with organizational policies, safeguarding requirements, and Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) legislation.
A youth worker within the Palmerston Youth Centre is also considered a member of the Youth and community services team and may be asked to support additional programs as directed by PYC Team leader & Manager.

Any successfully appointed applicant will be required to adhere to the Safeguarding Children and Young People framework, which includes a thorough safeguarding children and young people induction and a commitment to upholding the safety and wellbeing of children and young people throughout their engagement with Y NT.
