About the role
The Senior Accounts Officer is responsible for delivering accurate, timely and compliant financial processing across accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, reconciliations, cash flow forecasting, floor-plan finance administration and inter-entity transactions. This role ensures financial integrity across the dealership, considering the manufacturing operations, supporting operational decision-making. The position requires strong technical capability, Xero proficiency, and the ability to manage complex financial workflows with minimal supervision.
Key responsibilities
Prepare daily, weekly and monthly cash flow forecasts, monitor cash requirements across dealership factoring in the manufacturing operations
Administer floor-plan finance arrangements, including drawdowns, repayments, reconciliations and reporting, ensure compliance with lender requirements
Complete daily, weekly and monthly reconciliations across all bank accounts, credit cards and control accounts, maintain accuracy of general ledger entries and journals
Administer weekly payroll processing for approximately 20 employees in Xero, review payroll accuracy, leave balances, allowances, deductions and compliance
Ensure adherence to Awards, Fair Work requirements, superannuation obligations and payroll legislation, resolve payroll queries
Process supplier invoices with correct coding, approvals and timely payment, maintain supplier records and complete creditor reconciliations
Monitor payment cycles and support cash flow planning, liaise with suppliers regarding statements, discrepancies and account queries
Allocate payments and maintain accurate customer records, support dealership and manufacturing teams with customer account queries
About you
Degree in Accounting, Commerce or Finance
Demonstrated experience in a senior finance/accounts role
Proficiency in Xero, including payroll, AP/AR, reconciliations and reporting
Strong capability in cash flow forecasting and analysis
Experience managing floor-plan finance arrangements
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial controls
High accuracy, attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
Strong communication skills and ability to work across multiple entities
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
Professional, reliable and accountable with high integrity and commitment to confidentiality
