About the role
12-month fixed term, part-time | Secondary School, including day and boarding students | Reports to the Deputy Principal – Head of Secondary.
Great Southern Grammar is strengthening its student wellbeing model for 2027 and invites applications from appropriately qualified youth mental health professionals who want to make a practical, sustained difference in a school community.
The Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing Officer will provide visible, accessible and trauma-informed support to students in Years 7–12. The role adds specialist youth mental health capability to the Secondary pastoral team through timely response, brief evidence-informed support, coordinated case management and connection with families and community services.
Reliable availability across each student day is central to the role. Flexible part-time arrangements may be considered where consistent daily access is maintained.
Professional scope: This role does not replace external clinical, medical, psychological or emergency services. The appointee must work within qualifications, competence, School protocols and the approved scope of practice.
