About the role
The Working Women’s Centre (WWC) is a not-for-profit organisation and community legal centre that provides free legal advice, information, and representation to marginalised, non-unionised workers about their rights at work. We predominately service women and we are experts in gender-based workplace issues.
The WWC is made up of three arms:
Industrial/Legal support – we provide advice and representation to marginalised workers who contact the Centre with work issues.
Advocacy – we conduct advocacy to resolve systemic issues that affect women and other marginalised workers, such as sexual harassment and precarious work.
Education – we provide fee-for-service and free training for workers and employers about workplace rights, sexual harassment, responding to disclosures of domestic violence, and other topics.
The Centre was established in 1979 and has been advising, supporting and advocating for vulnerable women for 47 years. The Centre provides support, advice, information, and representation to women who face issues in their employment in both federal and state jurisdictions. The Centre is also concerned with the structural inequalities for women in the workplace, and conducts outreach, education, and advocacy work.
About the role
This newly established role offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced operations and administration coordinator to help build the systems, processes and foundations that enable the Centre to deliver impactful work for women and gender diverse people.
As a central member of a small, collaborative team, you will help ensure the organisation operates smoothly, sustainably and efficiently. Your contribution will directly support the Centre's mission to advance gender equality, improve access to justice, and champion fair and equitable workplaces.
Employment conditions are governed by the Working Women’s Centre SA Inc Enterprise Agreement (EBA), which provides generous leave entitlements and supports a positive work-life balance. In addition to a competitive salary, employees have access to attractive benefits including salary packaging, and opportunities for professional development and training.
You can access up to $15,900 of your salary tax-free each year to pay for everyday living expenses like your mortgage, rent, or groceries. An additional $2,650 meal entertainment card is also available to maximise your take-home pay.
A four day full time working week is currently being piloted by the Centre, alongside a range of other sector leading conditions including 13.5% super.
