About the role

Stornoway is now accepting expressions of interest from applicants seeking a permanent full-time Maintenance Worker position within our Cambridge Roads team.  

The role’s primary function will be mowing, landscaping and vegetation maintenance works; these works are vital to ensuing Tasmania’s applicable road networks are maintained to a high standard.  The role requires candidates with the ability and technical expertise to undertake mowing, landscaping and vegetation works whist also being content performing works associated with road maintenance when required. 

The role is diverse, with this position undertaking numerous functions to ensure road reservations throughout our road networks are maintained to an optimal standard, these functions may also include - 

• Mowing, landscaping and vegetation works

• Environmental maintenance

• Road maintenance

• Traffic control

• Patrol works

• Shadow vehicle operations

• General labouring and more

About you

You are safety focused with the desire to learn and develop your skills further and currently possess the following mandatory criteria:

• Rights to Work in Australia

• General Safety Induction White Card

• A current Australian Drivers Licence

• Competent with smart phones, tablets, and information systems

Desirable criteria include:

• Previous experience in mowing, vegetation or landscape maintenance

• Current National TTM Skill Set (CAT 1&2 - Traffic Control/Management Ticket)

• Relevant other tickets such as chainsaw/pole saw,

• Operate machinery such as tractors, excavators or skid steer 

• Experience operating a ride on or zero turn mower

• Experience operating handheld motorised tools such as brush cutter or hedge trimmers

• Sealed and unsealed pavement repair experience

• A current Australian Medium Rigid Class Licence

• Heavy Combination (HC) or Medium Combination (MC) Licence
