AJP Constructions is an award-winning Sydney building company specialising in high-end architectural homes and CLT construction.

We are seeking an experienced Leading Hand Carpenter to join our team and assist with the day-to-day delivery of premium residential projects across Sydney.

This role would suit a highly skilled carpenter who is ready to take greater responsibility on site and progress toward a Site Foreman or Site Manager position.

The role

Working closely with the Site Foreman and Project Manager, your responsibilities will include:

• Leading and coordinating carpenters, apprentices and labourers

• Assisting with daily site planning and construction programming

• Completing high-quality carpentry and detailed construction work

• Coordinating subcontractors, deliveries and site activities

• Reading and interpreting architectural and construction drawings

• Monitoring workmanship, quality and construction details

• Ensuring the site remains safe, clean and well organised

• Identifying potential issues and communicating them to the Site Foreman

• Assisting with material orders, site measurements and forward planning

• Helping maintain project deadlines and quality standards

About you

The successful candidate will have:

• Trade qualification in carpentry

• Strong experience in high-end residential construction

• Previous Leading Hand, Senior Carpenter or supervisory experience

• Excellent carpentry and construction knowledge

• Confidence reading architectural and structural drawings

• Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship

• Good communication and leadership skills

• A proactive and organised approach to work

• Current White Card and driver’s licence

• Full Australian working rights

Experience with architectural homes, detailed finishes, CLT, engineered timber or complex residential projects would be highly regarded.
