Parts Interpreter

McIntosh & Son, Wongan Hills, are seeking an experienced Parts Interpreter to join our team in a full-time position.

Reporting to the Parts Manager, this role will suit a motivated and customer-focused Parts Interpreter with strong parts knowledge, excellent attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a busy dealership environment.

Key responsibilities

• Establish, develop and maintain positive relationships with customers and internal staff.
• Identify and understand customer parts requirements and provide suitable solutions.
• Provide accurate parts information, advice and support to customers.
• Prepare parts quotations, process orders and contribute to achieving sales targets.
• Identify opportunities to grow parts sales and develop new and existing customer relationships.
• Assist with parts merchandising and maintaining attractive, well-organised displays.
• Participate in stocktakes and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Assist with the timely resolution of customer queries, problems and complaints.
• Work as part of the wider dealership team to support efficient parts and service operations.
• Participate in seasonal Saturday and on-call rosters as required.

About you

• Previous experience as a Parts Interpreter, preferably within the agricultural, automotive, earthmoving, heavy equipment or related industry
• Ability to work seasonal Saturdays and outside normal hours during peak seasons
• A supportive team player with a can-do attitude
• Ability to learn and adapt to new systems and technology
• Proven ability to build professional relationships with clients and seek new parts sales opportunities
• Good problem-solving skills and ability to multitask and prioritise
• Ability to interpret a technical diagram
