Role Description This full-time Information Technology Support Officer role is an on-site position located in Belconnen. The role involves providing day-to-day technical support for staff, including resolving issues related to desktop computers, printers, and core IT systems. The officer will respond to service requests, diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software problems, and escalate complex issues when necessary. Responsibilities include installing and configuring devices, maintaining asset records, and ensuring IT services meet agreed standards and security requirements. The role also requires clear communication with users, documenting solutions, and contributing to continuous improvement of support processes.
Qualifications
Strong technical support and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify, diagnose, and resolve IT issues efficiently.Knowledge of core information technology concepts, including operating systems, networks, and standard workplace applications.Experience supporting desktop computers, including setup, configuration, maintenance, and user assistance.Competence in printer support, including installation, connectivity, and resolving print-related faults.Effective communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly to non-technical users.Attention to detail, sound problem-solving abilities, and capacity to work both independently and as part of a team.Relevant IT qualifications or certifications (e.g., Certificate IV in Information Technology, CompTIA A+, or equivalent experience) are highly regarded.Understanding of information security practices and adherence to government policies and procedures.
