We currently have an opportunity for a full-time Allied Health Assistant to join our team.
The opportunity:
The Allied Health Assistant contributes to the health, wellbeing, independence and quality of life of Barossa Village Community clients by supporting individualised allied health programs under the direction of the Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist. The role works closely with the Community Wellbeing team to promote physical, functional, social and emotional wellbeing while respecting each client's dignity, choice, independence and preferences.
Responsibilities:
Assist clients with individual and group exercise, mobility, strengthening, functional and dexterity programs as directed by the Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist.
Support client independence and participation by reinforcing therapy strategies and assisting with appropriate wellbeing, engagement, community activities and outings within scope of practice.
Assist the Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist with assessments, observations, program preparation, auditing and other delegated activities within scope.
Work collaboratively with the Community Wellbeing team, Home Care team, clients, families and carers to support coordinated, client-focused care and wellbeing.
Essential Criteria:
Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance or equivalent.
Police Clearance not older than 12 months at appointment
Current Australian Driver's licence.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Participate in the Annual Mandatory vaccination program.
