About the role
Central Adelaide Local Health Network (CALHN)
Join CALHN's Occupational Therapy team and take your career further!
As part of one of South Australia's largest health networks, you'll join a connected and supportive OT community where your expertise is valued, your growth is encouraged, and your work makes a genuine difference every day.
Why Occupational Therapists choose CALHN:
Find out more about CALHN sites and services, our stories and the opportunities to be part of CALHN.
About the Role
Take your Occupational Therapy skills beyond the hospital and make a real difference in the lives of older people, helping them stay safe, independent and well at home.
Joining CALHN’s IC Geriatric Services, including Geriatrics in the Home, you’ll work in a genuinely multidisciplinary team where expertise is shared and support is always close at hand. You’ll complete cognitive, functional, personal care and home assessments, develop practical interventions and help prevent avoidable hospital presentations or support a safe return home.
You’ll enjoy the autonomy of community practice without working in isolation, with regular supervision, experienced clinicians and Allied Health Assistants to support your work. A flexible seven-day roster also provides choice around working days and roster times, with applicable penalty rates.
What you'll do:
Learn more about IC Geriatric Services and how we're supporting older people to receive the right care in the right place.
About You
You’re an Occupational Therapist who enjoys variety, solving problems and seeing the difference your work makes in people’s everyday lives. You’ll feel confident working in the community, using your clinical judgement and contributing to a supportive, genuinely multidisciplinary team.
You'll bring:
You may already be working at AHP2 level, or have strong clinical foundations and be ready to grow into the role with support and supervision.
You don’t need experience across every aspect of geriatric or community Occupational Therapy. Experience in acute care, rehabilitation, primary care, community, outreach or ambulatory settings can all provide a strong foundation. What matters most is your clinical judgement, confidence in the community and willingness to learn.
Why You’ll Love It Here - CALHN benefits that matter
In line with the Enterprise Agreement 2025 you’ll enjoy enhanced benefits that support you and your career.
Diversity & Inclusion
We’re committed to building an inclusive workplace where everyone feels safe, respected, and supported. We strongly encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people with disabilities, culturally diverse backgrounds, and LGBTQIA+ communities.
