About the role
Lighthouse Accountants is looking for someone warm, organised, capable and dependable to become a central part of our practice.
Maybe you’ve taken time out of your career, worked part-time around family, run your own business or are ready to use your experience in a completely new industry.
You do not need to be an accountant.
You may come from financial planning, legal, banking, property, administration, operations, small business, project coordination or another client-focused industry.
What matters most is your ability to organise, communicate, build relationships, follow things through and make sure nothing falls through the cracks.
Your job is simple to describe: make sure our clients feel cared for and our workflow keeps moving.
Key responsibilitiesBe a warm and trusted point of contact for clients.
Make clients feel welcome, remembered and genuinely cared for.
Coordinate work coming into and moving through the practice.
Monitor deadlines, outstanding information and next steps.
Follow up clients and team members when something is needed.
Keep clients updated on the progress of their work.
Coordinate client meetings, onboarding, proposals and follow-up actions.
Keep workflow and client systems accurate and up to date.
Identify potential delays or problems before they become urgent.
Help improve systems, templates and processes as you learn the role.
You’ll probably love this role if:
You get genuine satisfaction from bringing order to chaos.
You’re warm and chatty but also notice details other people miss.
If someone says they’ll send something Friday and it doesn’t arrive, you remember on Monday.
You’re comfortable politely chasing people.
You like knowing what’s happening rather than being surprised by problems.
You naturally look for better ways of doing things.
You want responsibility and ownership, not just a list of tasks.
You enjoy being the person other people can rely on.
You’re comfortable speaking up when something isn’t working.
You like finishing things properly.
Experience in accounting, financial planning, legal or another professional services environment would be highly regarded, but it is not essential.
A non-linear career path won’t count against you. If you’ve taken time away from the workforce or are looking for a career change, we’re interested in the skills and experience you bring now.

3, 4 or 5 days per week, depending on the right applicant.

B1G1 workplace giving, allowing you to be part of the positive impact our business creates.
Training in our accounting systems and processes – you do not need to come from the accounting industry.

Genuine room to grow into greater responsibility in client service, workflow or practice management over time.
A supportive, values-led team where relationships, contribution and life outside work matter.
If this sounds like you but you don’t tick every box, we’d still love to hear from you.
