About the role:

We are offering an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and driven Mechanical fitters to join our team!! 

This role is for a 7 on 7 off mechanical fitter role in an Almond in a processing facility,

Key Responsibilities

• Perform planned preventive maintenance and reactive breakdown repairs on production equipment, including conveyors, elevators, hullers, shellers, sorters, blanchers, dryers, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, pneumatics, and packaging machinery.

• Diagnose mechanical faults quickly and carry out effective repairs to minimise downtime and maintain production continuity.

• Assist with equipment installations, alignments, changeovers, setups, and commissioning of new or modified machinery.

• Conduct inspections, lubrication, adjustments, and component replacements in accordance with maintenance schedules and manufacturer specifications.

• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts usage, and work orders (CMMS experience preferred).

• Identify opportunities for reliability improvements and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing breakdowns and increasing Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).

• Work collaboratively with production, quality, and other trades teams to support operational goals.

• Ensure all work complies with workplace health and safety (WHS), Good Manufacturing Practice and food safety standards.

• Maintain a clean, organised, and hygienic work environment, particularly around food-contact equipment (stainless steel fabrication/welding experience highly regarded).

• Participate in shutdowns, overtime, and call-outs as required.

ROSTER:

7days on 7 days off ongoing roster alternating days/nights (1 swing of days/ 1 swing of nights)

Skills and experience: 

• Mechanical fitter experience and qualification

• LV or HD mechanics can also apply and will be looked on favorably 

• Good work ethic and attitude 

• full Australian working rights

Qualifications and licenses:

• Mechanical trades qualification

• forklift ticket

• EWP Ticket

• white card 

• first aid certificate (NOT ESSENTIAL)

• Medical (can be obtained)
