Sydney Trains' Tangara fleet makes up a quarter of our suburban rail fleet. To ensure its longevity, the Tangara Fleet Life Extension project will upgrade operating systems, modernise onboard passenger information systems, and enhance accessibility features for mobility-impaired passengers. The project will also help build our future workforce capabilities, strengthen local economies and support the long-term growth of NSW's transportation industry.
As the Rail Maintainer, Electrical you will be:
• Inspecting, servicing, overhauling, and repairing systems, equipment, and components on our Tangara Fleet.
• Performing inspections, maintenance, overhauls, fault finding, repairs, modifications, upgrades, component changes, and functional testing on the Tangara Fleet train equipment and components.
• Reporting directly to the Maintenance Shift Managers and Team Leaders and collaborating with a team of Rail Maintainers and Engineering support staff.
You will be part of an experienced team dedicated to repairing the Tangara fleet at either the Flemington Maintenance Centre or Auburn Maintenance Centre, Sydney.

About you
You hold an electrical trade qualification with experience in electrical heavy engineering or maintenance, and you excel in fault finding, communication, and lateral thinking.
You take pride in resolving technical issues and are eager to enhance your skills through additional training.
You demonstrate strong organizational and prioritization abilities, flexibility, resourcefulness, and initiative.
You are capable of working independently or collaboratively to solve problems and complete tasks effectively.
The Tangara Fleet Life Extension project will see you working on a truly high tech project that will enhance the lives for the people of Sydney for years to come.
