Estimator - Building & Construction

We are currently seeking an experienced Estimator to join an established building and construction business based in Ipswich QLD.

This is a permanent opportunity working across a diverse range of building projects, supporting both sales and project requirements from initial budgets and quotations through to detailed tenders and costing.

Reporting to the Business Development Manager, The role would suit an Estimator with a strong building or construction background who is comfortable working across multiple projects and liaising with suppliers, subcontractors and internal project and manufacturing teams.

Primarily, you will be responsible for:

• Preparing budgets, quotations, tenders, for the Ipswich and Stanthorpe Branch.

• Reviewing technical specifications, tender documentation and building drawings.

• Preparing accurate estimates incorporating subcontractor scope and pricing.

• Developing scopes of work, clarifications and qualifications for tenders.

• Liaising with suppliers, subcontractors, consulting engineers, building certifiers and internal stakeholders.

• Working across multiple projects simultaneously and ensuring estimates are delivered accurately and on time.

• Supporting ongoing improvements to estimating systems, processes and workflows.

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• 1+ years' estimating experience within the building or construction industry.

• Experience preparing, cost plans, quotations and tenders.

• Experience with BuildExact or similar estimating software.

• Ability to interpret building drawings, technical specifications and tender documentation.

• Good understanding of building regulations and construction requirements.

• Residential & Commercial site-based project experience will be highly regarded.

• Experience working across both client and contractor environments would be advantageous.

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Ability to manage multiple projects and work with limited supervision.

• Exposure to Residential & Commercial construction would be advantageous, but is not essential.

• Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related discipline will be highly regarded
