Quality Engineer - Commercial Vehicles (Junior to Mid-Level)

We’re currently recruiting for a Quality Engineer to join a global leader in the manufacture of braking, electronic and related subsystems for commercial vehicles.
  
This is a full-time, permanent position based in Southeast Melbourne. The role is fully office-based and combines hands-on product testing and quality investigations with application engineering, warranty support and direct customer interaction.
  
Roles and Responsibilities

• Conduct warranty inspections, product testing, investigations and technical reporting
• Manage warranty and sales-return inspections and support product quality investigations
• Provide technical and application support for product testing, troubleshooting and issue resolution
• Support trailer braking drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs) and brake calculations in line with ADR requirements
• Coordinate technical and quality matters with OEM customers, internal stakeholders and offshore engineering teams
• Support engineering changes, technical documentation and continuous improvement initiatives

  
Skills and Requirements

• Qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or similar
• Prior experience with commercial vehicles and braking systems, with a strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of associated electronic systems
• Experience in product quality, warranty investigations, testing, applications engineering or technical support
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and CAD or 3D models
• Must be an AU/NZ citizen or hold PR
