Technical Sales Representative – Bearings & Power Transmission

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Technical Sales Representative with a strong background in bearings and mechanical power transmission products. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and providing customers with technical solutions that meet their operational requirements.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in external sales within the industrial sector and possess excellent product knowledge, strong communication skills, and a customer-focused approach.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and grow an established customer portfolio.
• Identify and secure new business opportunities within the industrial market.
• Conduct regular customer visits to maintain strong relationships and identify sales opportunities.
• Provide technical advice and recommend suitable bearings and power transmission solutions.
• Prepare quotations and follow up on sales opportunities.
• Work collaboratively with the internal sales and operations teams to ensure exceptional customer service.
• Assist customers with product selection, troubleshooting, and application advice.
• Achieve agreed sales targets and key performance indicators.
• Maintain accurate customer records and sales activity reports.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and identify opportunities for business growth.
• Represent the business professionally at all times.

Essential Requirements

• Minimum 5 years' experience as an External Technical Sales Representative.
• Demonstrated experience within the bearing and mechanical power transmission industry.
• Strong technical knowledge of:
• Bearings
• Power transmission products
• Chain and sprockets
• V-belts and pulleys
• Gearboxes
• Electric motors
• Couplings
• Linear motion products (desirable)
• Proven ability to develop and maintain long-term customer relationships.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
• Ability to work independently while contributing positively within a team environment.
• High level of professionalism, integrity, and accountability.
• Current Australian driver's licence.

Desirable Qualifications

• Experience using CRM systems.
• Knowledge of industrial maintenance practices and rotating equipment.

Pay: From $85,000.00 per year
