About the role
We’re a proudly independent brewery built on the idea that beer should be for everyone. Since opening in 2016, we’ve been bringing people together over great food, great beer and good times. Our Morris Moor Beer Hall is housed in a converted warehouse with a leafy beer garden and buzzing community vibe. Families, mates and beer lovers gather here to enjoy quality craft beer, delicious food and genuine hospitality.
We’re looking for a full-time Commis Chef to join our kitchen team at Morris Moor.
This is a great opportunity for someone starting their culinary career or looking to build their skills in a busy, supportive kitchen. Working alongside our experienced chefs, you’ll assist with food preparation and service while learning all aspects of kitchen operations.
Your responsibilities will include:
Preparing and cooking dishes to a consistently high standard
Assisting senior chefs during preparation and service
Following recipes, presentation standards and portion guidelines
Maintaining high standards of food safety, cleanliness and hygiene
Receiving, storing and rotating stock correctly
Helping minimise food waste
Supporting the wider kitchen team as needed
Some experience in a commercial kitchen or a relevant cookery qualification
A genuine interest in developing your skills and building a career as a chef
A positive attitude and strong work ethic
Good communication and teamwork skills
The ability to stay organised in a busy kitchen
An understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene
Availability to work a full-time roster, including evenings and weekends
Full-time employment in a supportive and collaborative kitchen
Hands-on training from experienced chefs
