Childcare worker - Educator

Academy for Early Learners is looking for a full-time Childcare Worker.

As our Childcare Worker, you will work in a warm and dynamic team based at West Pymble, Sydney.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Enthusiastically deliver community programs and services appropriate to children and young families. This will include facilitating all our Supported Playgroups, and school holiday community programs and family events.

• Provide care and supervision for children in programs, at our childcare centre

• Maintain and manage the SECC Community Toy Library

• Assisting in the preparation of materials and equipment for children's education and recreational activities

• Managing children's behaviour and guiding children's social development

• Preparing and conducting activities for children

• Entertaining children by reading and playing games

• Supervising children in recreational activities

• Supervising the daily routine of children

• Supervising the hygiene of children

AS OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE, YOU WILL HAVE:

• Diploma in Early Childhood Education

• At least one year or more work exoerience in the same or similar role

• Experience working with children or within a community development role

• The demonstrated ability to network and work cooperatively with other community organisations

• A current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain one)

• A current First Aid/CPR Certificate (or willingness to obtain one)

• Ideally experience and knowledge of community and family services
