Senior & Technical Business Analysts - 2 Contracts

Hope IT Consulting is recruiting for two separate contract appointments supporting a major transformation program at a leading Sydney university:

- Senior Business Analyst

- Technical Business Analyst

The initial term runs to 31 December 2026, with potential 12-month extensions. Sydney hybrid working, currently one to two days onsite per week. Applications will be assessed against the position most closely aligned with each candidate's experience.

SENIOR BUSINESS ANALYST

Key responsibilities:

- Lead end-to-end analysis across software application and transformation workstreams

- Scope and prioritise complex change initiatives, including options, benefits, feasibility and risk analysis

- Elicit, validate and manage requirements with clear traceability through delivery

- Translate business requirements into functional specifications with ICT teams and vendors

- Map current and future-state processes using BPMN and recommend process improvements

- Plan and review UAT, acceptance criteria and change-impact activities

- Review key BA deliverables and mentor or guide up to three Business Analysts

Essential experience:

- Senior Business Analyst experience delivering application or transformation initiatives in a complex organisation

- Strong BPMN, current-state and future-state analysis, UAT and requirements-traceability experience

- Demonstrated experience leading or mentoring Business Analysts and quality-assuring BA deliverables

- Practical experience with options analysis, facilitation, process improvement and change support

TECHNICAL BUSINESS ANALYST

Key responsibilities:

- Capture and translate detailed business and technical requirements for system integration and data migration workstreams

- Produce clear workflows, technical specifications and data mappings

- Analyse data, identify quality issues and support mapping, cleansing and validation activities

- Support integrations across enterprise platforms such as PeopleSoft

- Work with technical teams across APIs, ETL, enterprise data models and data warehousing

Essential experience:

- Proven Technical Business Analyst experience in enterprise data modelling and data warehousing, or API integration projects using API and ETL methodologies

- Strong understanding of the integration delivery lifecycle, data migration, data mapping and data-quality improvement

- Working knowledge of SOAP, REST, XML, XSLT and JSON, together with SQL and BPMN

- Experience working through the SDLC in Agile delivery environments

- Higher education, PeopleSoft, financial systems or enterprise CMS experience is desirable
