Expression of Interest - FIFO Village Chefs

TCLH is seeking expressions of interest from experienced Remote Village Chefs for potential upcoming opportunities ACT & NSW.

These roles will be FIFO ex Canberra and Sydney.

We’re looking for chefs who take pride in what leaves the kitchen and understand that in a village environment, food can be one of the most important parts of someone’s day.

The Opportunity

As a Village Chef with TCLH, you’ll help deliver high-quality, nutritious, and appealing meals within a busy mining village environment.

Depending on the opportunity, responsibilities may include:

• Preparing and delivering high-volume breakfast, lunch and dinner services

• Producing fresh, varied and high-quality meals

• Supporting menu planning and food preparation

• Maintaining exceptional food safety and hygiene standards

• Managing dietary and allergen requirements

• Supporting stock control and minimising food waste

• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe kitchen

• Working collaboratively with the broader village team

• Contributing ideas to continually improve the resident dining experience

About You

You’re a chef who cares about high quality and consistency.

You can work efficiently in a high-volume environment without losing sight of presentation, flavour or the experience of the people you’re cooking for.

We’re interested in hearing from chefs with experience across:

• Remote camp or village operations

• Hotels, resorts or large hospitality operations

• Defence, institutional or contract catering

• High-volume commercial kitchens

• Functions, events or large-scale food production

You’ll ideally bring:

• Relevant commercial cookery qualifications (Certificate 3 in Commercial Cookery or above required)

• Experience working within a commercial kitchen

• Strong food safety knowledge

• The ability to deliver quality food consistently at volume

• Excellent organisation and time-management skills

• A positive, team-focused attitude

• Pride in your work and the food you produce

Experience within village operations is highly regarded, but great hospitality chefs looking to bring their skills into the village environment are also encouraged to express their interest.
