Inclusion Support Officer

About the Role

• Support children with additional medical, behavioural, developmental, or environmental needs to fully participate in education and care programs.
• Develop, review, and implement Strategic Inclusion Plans and Individual Support Plans.
• Assist educators and service leaders to create inclusive learning environments and practices.
• Support inclusion funding applications, documentation, claims, and reporting requirements.
• Provide on-site guidance and coaching to educators on inclusive strategies and practices.
• Build strong partnerships with families, caregivers, and external support agencies.
• Coordinate and communicate inclusion-related information with stakeholders.
• Deliver inclusion training, resources, and professional support to staff teams.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and quality standards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement, quality initiatives, and child-safe practices across Children's Services.
• Represent the organisation at community meetings, sector forums, and professional development activities.
• Promote a culture of inclusion, diversity, respect, and belonging for all children and families

About You

• Relevant qualifications in Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, Disability Support, or a related field.
• Experience supporting children with additional needs.
• Strong communication, organisation and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Knowledge of the National Quality Framework, inclusion support programs and child-safe practices.
• Current First Aid qualification, driver’s licence and access to a vehicle. 

Essential

• Relevant qualification in Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, Disability Support, or a related field.
• Experience working with children with additional support needs.
• Understanding of the Children's Services sector and inclusive practices.
• Knowledge of the National Quality Framework (NQF), National Quality Standard (NQS), Child Safe Standards, and relevant regulations.
• Strong organisational, time management, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable, professional, and committed to maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries.
• Current First Aid certificate in an education and care setting (including asthma and anaphylaxis).
• Current Driver's Licence and access to a private vehicle.

Desirable

• Experience developing and implementing Strategic Inclusion Plans.
• Experience with inclusion funding applications and support processes.
• Experience delivering training, coaching, or support to educators and staff.
• Understanding of current best practice in inclusion and child development.
