Rugby World Cup Australia is seeking a passionate and highly organised Workforce Training Manager to play a key role in preparing the tournament workforce for one of the world's largest sporting events. This is a unique opportunity to help shape and deliver the training experience for thousands of volunteers, staff and contractors, ensuring they are equipped to deliver an exceptional tournament experience for teams, fans and stakeholders across Australia.

Based in the Sydney office and reporting to the Senior Volunteer Manager, you will lead the planning, development and delivery of training programs ranging from onboarding and e-learning through to role-specific and venue-specific training. You'll collaborate with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, support key workforce systems and help deliver volunteer engagement initiatives across host cities. As tournament operations commence, you will transition into a Workforce Venue Manager role, taking responsibility for workforce operations and welfare at an assigned venue. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Lead the planning and delivery of the tournament-wide workforce training program, ensuring volunteers, staff and contractors are trained, engaged and operationally ready for tournament time.
• Manage the Learning Management System (LMS), including e-learning development, supplier management, stakeholder coordination, system testing and integration with the Tournament Management System (TMS).
• Partner with Functional Areas (internal teams) to develop and deliver role-specific training, ensuring content is engaging, accurate and delivered in line with project timelines.
• Coordinate training operations and compliance, including scheduling, registrations, communications, attendance tracking, reporting and follow-up to ensure mandatory training requirements are completed.
• Lead venue-specific training across tournament venues, working with key stakeholders to develop content, manage logistics and ensure workforce readiness for venue operations.
• Plan and deliver volunteer engagement events across host cities, including Volunteer Kick-Off Events, managing stakeholder relationships, communications, logistics and attendee experience.
• Support tournament workforce operations and transition into a Workforce Venue Manager role, taking responsibility for workforce deployment, engagement, welfare and operational delivery at an assigned venue during tournament time.

Qualifications & Experience

• 2–3 years' experience in training, learning and development, workforce capability or workforce operations, ideally within a major event, sport, hospitality or customer-facing environment - mandatory.
• Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple priorities, stakeholders and deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
• Excellent communication, relationship-building and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence outcomes and collaborate across diverse teams, suppliers and workforce groups.
• Confident facilitation and presentation skills, with experience delivering engaging training sessions, workshops or briefings to both virtual and in-person audiences.
• Experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS), workforce platforms or similar technology, including training administration, compliance tracking, reporting and user engagement.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical capability, with the ability to manage workforce data, monitor progress, generate meaningful reports and identify risks or gaps.
• A proactive, adaptable and solutions-focused mindset, with the ability to take ownership, work autonomously and perform effectively under pressure.
• A collaborative and people-focused approach, with a passion for creating engaging workforce experiences and supporting workforce readiness and development.
• Flexibility to travel with days away from home and work evenings/weekends as required.
