Heavy Diesel Fitter/Light Vehicle Mechanic

About the Role

Southern Pacific Sands is a leading supplier of quality washed silica sand, bio-retention filtration media, soil products, and ready-mixed concrete, servicing Brisbane and Southeast Queensland.

We are currently seeking a motivated Heavy Diesel Fitter/Mechanic to join our Maintenance team. We are also happy to consider Light Vehicle Mechanics with a minimum of one year's post-trade experience who are looking to transition into the heavy vehicle industry.

In this hands-on role, you will service, maintain, and carry out repairs on our fleet of Kenworth and Western Star Road trucks, as well as a variety of earthmoving equipment and fixed plant machinery. You will work alongside an experienced team in a supportive environment with opportunities to further develop your skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Service, maintain, and carry out repairs on Kenworth and Western Star trucks.

• Perform preventative maintenance and fault diagnosis on heavy vehicles.

• Service and maintain a range of earthmoving equipment.

• Carry out repairs and maintenance on fixed plant equipment.

• Complete local on-site servicing and breakdown repairs as required.

• Maintain accurate service records and workshop documentation.

• Follow safe work procedures and contribute to a positive safety culture.

What We're Looking For

• Trade qualified Heavy Diesel Fitter/Mechanic or Trade qualified Light Vehicle Mechanic with a minimum of 1 years' experience.

• Current Australian driver's license (Manual).

• Works well in a team.

• Takes pride in workmanship.

• Commitment to workplace health and safety.

• Forklift license (desirable).

• Truck license (desirable).

• Monday to Thursday: 6:00 am – 5:00 pm

• Friday: 6:00 am – 3:00 pm
