About the role
Parenthood is looking for a creative, organised and social-media-savvy Content Assistant to support the day-to-day running of the podcast and my personal social media channels.
This role would be ideal for a university student or recent graduate studying marketing, media or communications who is looking for hands-on experience across social media, podcasting, content creation and brand partnerships.
This is a hands-on role perfect for someone who loves Instagram, podcasts, content creation and Canva and has a natural understanding of what makes content engaging and shareable.
The role will be a combination of content creation, social media, podcast administration and occasional in-person filming/content days in Melbourne.
You'll work directly with the host of an established award nominated Australian podcast and gain hands-on experience across podcasting, social media, brand partnerships, content creation and media.
What you'll be doing
* Creating podcast show notes and Instagram episode copy.
* Listening to solo podcast episodes and turning them into engaging social content, including carousels.
* Creating memes, tweets and other shareable Parenthood content.
* Helping create content for my personal Instagram.
* Creating competition, discount code and sponsor assets in Canva.
* Scheduling and publishing social media content.
* Regular Instagram community engagement.
* Uploading podcast episodes to Acast and YouTube.
* Helping film day-to-day content, Stories, Reels and behind-the-scenes moments.
* Shooting fashion and lifestyle content when required.
* Helping identify and source relevant social media collaboration and partnership opportunities.
* Keeping content calendars, assets and deadlines organised.
* Supporting general day-to-day Parenthood content and social media requirements as they arise.
Who I'm looking for
Someone who is:
*Extremely organised and reliable — this is really important.
* Creative and genuinely loves social media.
* Confident using Canva and Instagram.
* A strong writer with excellent spelling and attention to detail.
* Naturally good at recognising what makes an interesting hook, caption or piece of content.
* Comfortable filming content on an iPhone and has a good visual eye.
* Across current social media trends.
* Proactive — I'd love someone who brings ideas rather than always waiting for instructions.
* Comfortable working independently and meeting deadlines.
* Melbourne-based and able to meet in person when required.
* Interested in parenting, lifestyle, media, fashion and/or podcast content.
Experience with podcast platforms, YouTube or social scheduling tools would be great, but isn't essential if you're willing to learn.
The arrangement
This is an ongoing of approximately 5-10 hours per week, with some flexibility depending on what we have happening.
Some work can be completed remotely, however I'm specifically looking for someone Melbourne-based as there will be times we'll create and film content together.
To apply
Please send through a short introduction about yourself, any relevant experience and examples of social media or Canva content you've created.
I'd also love to know which social media accounts you think are currently doing great content and why — I'm looking for someone who genuinely understands the space.
